Zeelandia Strives for
Responsible Business Conduct
with Supplier Code of Conduct
As a leading global supplier of baking ingredients and solutions, Zeelandia understands the importance of conducting business in a responsible and ethical manner. The company believes in respecting human rights, labour rights, protecting health and safety, and preserving the environment while preventing corruption and maintaining sound business practices.
In line with this philosophy, Zeelandia has developed a Supplier Code of Conduct (CoC) to provide clarity on the company's expectations for its suppliers. The CoC is based on various international standards and guidelines, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the ETI Base code, the UN Global Compact's 10 principles for sustainable development, and the OESO guidelines.
Zeelandia expects its suppliers to comply with the requirements outlined in the CoC, which cover environmental, social, and human rights aspects, as well as meeting Zeelandia's standards for quality, food safety, and delivery. The CoC sets a minimum standard of conduct, but suppliers are encouraged to exercise good judgment, care, and consideration in adhering to its requirements.
Suppliers must acknowledge, accept, and adhere to the CoC, which is regarded as a contractual document and an integral part of any agreement between Zeelandia and its suppliers. When selecting suppliers, Zeelandia considers their compliance with the CoC.
Suppliers are expected to be transparent about their material sourcing practices, including country of origin, and to engage in an open dialogue with Zeelandia when facing challenges in meeting the requirements of the CoC. The supplier must be open to collaboration with Zeelandia on all matters related to the CoC and other Corporate Social Responsibility issues.
To ensure compliance, Zeelandia may request evidence from its suppliers, including agents and subcontractors, that they are meeting the requirements of the CoC. Material non-conformance will be reported promptly to Zeelandia.
In conclusion, Zeelandia's commitment to responsible business conduct extends to its suppliers, who are expected to comply with the requirements outlined in the Supplier Code of Conduct. The CoC is an integral part of any agreement between Zeelandia and its suppliers, and the company will work collaboratively with its suppliers to ensure compliance and promote ethical business practices.
